The Paper Players Sketch Challenge

I decided to do the sketch challenge this week from The Paper Players. I love checking them out each week, with not only the inspiration from their challenges, but the samples created by their design team . . . and the submissions for the challenge are always fun! I took a bit of "liberty" with the actual shapes on the sketch (which is "allowed"!!) . . . .using Graphic 45 papers from "Time to Flourish". . . LOVE those papers!

My First Rose of Summer!

Those of you who know me, know that I am passionate about roses! I absolutely love them . .. growing them, nurturing them, learning about them, seeing them, smelling them, and . . . well . . .just loving them! This is my first bloom this summer. I don't know what it's name is, as it's not one I planted here. It's from one of the big bushes in our backyard, originally planted by our landlord. I do take care of these bushes, as I love being able to have fresh roses in the house in the summer. I have a few plants of my own, in pots, so they will be "mobile" . . .but any way I look at it, there's nothing I love more about summer than ROSES!!!

An Oregon "Jilli Workshop"

As I had mentioned, I had a mini vacation to Oregon last week . . .and one of the FUN things was joining Jilli and her Oregon stampers for her monthly workshop. It's ALWAYS fun to stamp at someone else's workshop . .. sometimes it's just nice to be a "stamper" and not the "leader"!! Here are a couple of the cards I made. As always, Jilli had lots of samples and choices for us to pick from, using the sets she had chosen. . . .I do LOVE these cards . . . especially the one with the bird. I didn't stamp a greeting at the top, as I'm not sure what occasion I will want to use it for! But it's definitely going into my box labeled "my stash"!! Thanks for a fun workshop, Jill!

HAPPY EASTER . . . and "Swapper's Sunday"

Hope you all are having a blessed Easter . . . I surely can't imagine living in this world without the hope we have for something better, because "He is Risen"!

Today is Sunday, so I've got more swap cards to show you. These are actually from my swap, in February. There are 9 of us who exchange cards, most months of the year. I am never disappointed, as these women are SUPER talented stampers and I just love the cards they come up with each month! May you be inspired! ENJOY!

 This last card was my swap. I have had many questions about this gorgeous border die (and I LOVE it!!) It's from a company in England called "JoAnna Sheen Ltd." . . . .she has such beautiful dies!

"TWELVE CARDS IN A BOX" Workshop!

April 23rd is my next workshop in Dixon, CA, at "It's All About the Scrapbook". This is not my typical "Graphic 45" card class. Instead, you'll be making TWELVE "quick, easy, and pretty" all occasion cards . . . just the thing to replenish your "stash" of handmade cards! There will be cards for all occasions . . birthdays, anniversaries, sympathy, get well, etc . . . many of the cards can be made into any of those occasions, with just the stamped greeting. And there will be "masculine" flavor cards, as well as "feminine" cards.

Then, you'll be decorating your own gable box to put all your cards in! You'll have a choice of kraft or white, for your box; and there will be lots of choices for pretty papers, colors, ribbons and embellishments, to make your box "yours". Hope you can join us!

Wow - where did this week go?  I haven't had a chance to blog all week long! It was sure a crazy one for me . . . .and we're in "monsoon season" here in the Sacramento area, so it's a great day for papercrafting! Sure don't want to go outside in this!

SWAPPIN' SUNDAY!

Sundays are the days I post swap cards I've made, or recieved in the swaps I participate in. I am fortunate to be blessed with amazing artists participating in these swaps as you can see by the cards I post. It is so much fun to either get the mail each month, with swaps in it, or pick up swap cards from some of my local participants . .. .definitely something that I really look forward to each month!

We were small stamp groups this month, but had fun making these three cards featuring stamps and products from the Stampin' Up "Occasions" catalog. Lots of really fun things in there . ..
